Central Air Conditioners

Also referred to as a ducted system, a central air conditioning system utilizes a split system that regulates air through ducts installed in your home. The system has three main units—an outdoor condenser, an evaporator coil, and an air handler or furnace. They are the most common type of cooling system and are preferred for large homes because of their efficiency.

Central AC systems are efficient, as they can cool all the rooms connected to the duct system, but they are physically larger and louder than ductless air conditioners.

At Canada HVAC, we have a furnace and air conditioner package that saves you up to 10%, and all of our air conditioners include an evaporator coil.

Ductless Air Conditioners

Also known as split or mini-split systems, ductless air conditioners are the recommended cooling system if your home has no ductwork. These systems consist of two units—an external compressor and one or more indoor units. These indoor units are often mounted on a wall and cool the air in the room where they are installed. Ductless air conditioners operate the same way as central AC systems, just without the duct system.

While they may have a high upfront purchase and installation cost compared to the window and portable AC systems, the cost is not as high as getting a central AC system. They are also more efficient, making them cheaper in the long run, are quiet, are small in size, and can be easily adapted to your interior decor.

HVAC installation requires electrical, gas and refrigerant knowledge as well as familiarity with local bylaws and building codes. Failure to properly install HVAC equipment can create safety concerns and performance issues as well as void manufacturer warranties. For those reasons, Canada HVAC always recommends professional installation.

You are not required to book installation through Canada HVAC and can use a local installer if you prefer. Just remember that manufacturer warranties will be invalidated if the HVAC equipment is not professionally installed.

Direct Comfort offers a 10-year Parts Limited Warranty coverage on all functional parts and Limited Lifetime Compressor and Limited Lifetime Heat Exchanger Warranties. These warranties only cover the replacement parts only, not the labour required to install them.

To ensure you have complete coverage, enroll in a Canada HVAC extended labour warranty and rest easy knowing you won’t pay for repairs for up to 10 years!

Please note, professional HVAC installation is required to keep manufacturer warranties valid.

Preventative annual maintenance can help you avoid costly repairs in the future and makes your heating and cooling systems more efficient, safe and reliable. In addition, many manufacturer warranties require yearly inspections by certified HVAC professionals to maintain validity.
