Efficiency:
If you are looking to purchase a gas furnace, you should consider The Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) rating. The AFUE rating measures the gas efficiency of a furnace over a whole heating season. The higher the AFUE, the more efficient the unit will be. A high-efficiency gas furnace will have a rating AFUE rating of 90-97%.
Since electric furnaces do not run on gas, they have an AFUE rating of 100%, but keep in mind that electricity is more expensive than gas. Therefore, a gas furnace with a lower AFUE rating could be less expensive to operate than an electric furnace.

Gas furnaces have an average lifespan of 15 to 20 years. On the other hand, you can expect an electric furnace to last for 20 to 30 years. Electric furnaces are also usually easier to maintain than gas furnaces.

You are not required to book installation through Canada HVAC and can use a local installer if you prefer. Just remember that manufacturer warranties will be invalidated if the HVAC equipment is not professionally installed.
